Ford might retool factories for smaller cars
Over the next couple of years, Ford's lineup in North America will start to look very much like its fuel-efficient offerings in Europe. That's a trend that seems to be gaining momentum with all of the major automakers that have been heavily invested in the SUV. As gas prices remain high and paychecks shrink, US motorists are demanding better mileage. Among the cars expected to be rushed into production are the next generation Ford Focus, Mondeo, Fiesta -- maybe even the return of the Escort.
