Woody Harrelson gets cast as an environmental whack-job
As Hollywood attempts to take on the serious issue of climate change -- by appealing to humanity's affinity with superstition and action movies -- it's nice to know that today's eco-conscious movie producers haven't lost their sense of humor. Last week, in an interview with MTV, Woody Harrelson revealed that he will be starring alongside John Cusack in the upcoming eco-thriller 2012. In his own words:"I play a guy who's been talking for a long time, the whole world thinks he's crazy... But he's been talking that there's gonna be hell to pay for what's been going on ecologically and everything."Hmm, I don't think we've ever seen Woody in such a fitting role. According to the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012 will mark the end of the world. From what we know about Woody -- with his obsession over vegan shoes and organic toothbrushes -- I wouldn't be at all surprised if he had an Aztec calendar on every wall in his self-sustaining home in rural Maui.
