You know those shower scrubbers that you can get at the dollar store and are made out of some sort of polymer? Well, they do go bad at some point. Sometimes they mildew, sometimes they fall apart and sometimes something better comes along. The bad news is that they are not biodegradable. The good news is that I've found five interesting ways to recycle them (with much help from
How Can I Recycle This?).
- Dip the poof in paint to create a faux finish or add texture to a ceiling.
- Opening them up will provide you with a net tube with which you can collect seashells for easy rinsing.
- Also recommended is putting drainage stones into the bag before adding them to your potted plants for easy removal later on down the road.
- Open one up and bring it to the grocery store to hold produce thereby eliminating the need for plastic produce bags. This is a much less expensive option than the commercial alternatives.
- Learn how to juggle.
