When I used to ride my bike to work I went through a lot of tires. Broken bottles and sudden stops made for a bad biking combination. Fortunately the tires weren't too expensive to replace but I never did ask the bike shop what they did with the old ones. If I were to have kept them, here are five things I could have done with them.
- Attach a buckle and poke some holes to create a vegan belt.
- Stack several tires on top of each other and fill with dirt to create a small planter.
- Make a tote out of scrap fabric or vinyl and use the bike tires for the straps.
- Connect the tires together with wire to create a modern style barrier.
- Use the inner tube to make a wallet.
If you are not very crafty you can always buy products made from recycled tires like
Christiane Diehl's jewelry or a rug by
Bicicleta.

Because I got fired :)
I took the bus to the next job as it was further from my house and now I work from home.
