Surprise! China's getting fat too
Remember when your parents told you to eat your vegetables, because there were starving children in China? Well, the problems of hunger and poverty haven't been stamped out, but a new reports shows that obesity levels in China are rising fast. Just as we're finding that eating less somehow equates to increased longevity, developing countries like China are ditching their healthy traditional diets for a more China's rate of bulking up is second only to Mexico's. That's because, in China's emerging economy, workers are doing less physical labor, while at the same time they're scarfing down more animal fats and junk food. The concern over China's growing trend is not only the rapidly expanding carbon footprint of the 1.3 billion who live there, but also the fact that it's a template for all developing countries. A few fat developed countries are already stretching the global food supply. A fat world could really be a disaster.

I don't appreciate the picture used in this article. The "fat," from the sign is the pronunciation of the Chinese characters. And, does not mean fat literally in the Chinese language. Dumb Americans like you should do a bit more research before posting an article like this.
