Giant mirrors in the sky are not the answer

What problems can't be solved by mirrors? I mean, seriously. They can make a room appear larger, they keep Criss Angel in a job and they make sure we don't leave the house with that piece of food stuck in our teeth. However, one problem mirrors have been proven unsuccessful in solving is reversing global warming.

Researchers at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom applied state-of-the-art global climate models to predict the effect of using reflective sunshades on incoming sunlight to our atmosphere. "Although we managed to cancel out warming on a global average, what you end up with is some areas that warm up and some that cool down," said Dan Lunt, who led the study, published in Geophysical Research Letters. In addition to this, the study found that the mirrors do nothing for carbon reduction, which has proven to be our planet's biggest enemy.
