Take the "Rise above plastics" Pledge

You've probably heard about that enormous section of the Pacific Ocean called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is twice the size of the continental United States, with 100 million tons of plastic.

The Surfrider Foundation Network is asking people to Take the Pledge, to commit to do your part to "Rise Above Plastics" and protect the world's oceans, waves, beaches from plastic pollution. What's involved? Quite simple:

  • Use reusable bottles.
  • Use cloth bags.
  • Recycle the plastic bags and bottles you already have.
Here's a interesting fact, for every 13 plastic bags you don't take at the store, you save enough petroleum to drive a car one mile.

Now take the All at Once Rise Above Plastics eco quiz and get a free Jack Johnson download.
