Eco-porn site wants your home video to save planet
An enterprising and exhibitionistic Norwegian couple have got a very literal take on the term "hardcore environmentalist." The pair operate a website called "**** For Forest.com (warning: extremely NSFW) that makes PETA's promotional nudity look like a Bible college performance of Oklahoma.
Leona Johansson and Tommy Hol Ellingsen achieved minor fame when they raised, um, awareness, by exploring their physicality on stage in front of 5000 Norwegian heavy metal fans at a 2005 music festival. Subsequently realizing that some people really, really like watching other people have sex, they put together a website that combines naked lasciviousness with a strong environmental message.
The site, which I'll shorten to FFF.com to maintain our rep as a family blog, has a number of features. As you'd expect, there are photos, videos and live on-line shows of Tommy and Leona and friends doing what comes naturally. Besides that, site members (only $15 for 30 days!) and others with an interest in sharing their personal moments with the web community are encouraged to send in home-grown media to support the cause. You can also buy souvenir t-shirts, though they're not the kind of thing you'd want to wear to grandma's house for Thanksgiving.
Does it work? Well, they say they collected over $120,000 last year, of which 80% goes directly towards environmental causes. The only problem they're been encountering is that some organizations, including the World Wildlife Fund in Norway and the Netherlands, have declined FFF contributions because of the group's notoriety. However, they continue to fight the good fight in the way they know best. And presumably enjoy most.
