Green Daily giveaway: Neuton battery powered lawn mower

OH YEAH, you read that right. We here at Green Daily are offering YOU the chance to win your very own Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Mower valued at $399. You may have seen my review of the Neuton lawnmower a few days ago extolling its virtues and my new found freedom from gas and grime. We are terribly excited here at Green Daily to offer this giveaway and grateful to Neuton Power for agreeing to let us feature their product.
The Neuton 5.2 Battery-Powered Mower requires minimum annual maintenance and runs for up to 60 minutes on a single battery charge. It starts mowing with the single push of a button and cuts grass just as evenly as you would expect from a gas powered mower. Owning a Neuton would mean NO last minute trips to the gas station and NO nasty fumes released while mowing. Lastly, the Neuton mower is probably quieter than your vacuum cleaner.
- To enter, leave a confirmed comment below telling us how you will recycle your old lawnmower if you win.
- The comment must be left before 5pm EST on Friday, July 4th.
- You may enter only once.
- 1 winner will be selected in a random drawing.
- Winner will one Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Mower (valued at $399).
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older.
GOOD LUCK!

If lucky enough to win the Neuton, the old mower will be drained, flushed, and donated to my neighbor the scrap metal collector for recycling.

Wow! Nothing like a giveaway to attract comments. Nice how this is the first time most of the commenters have posted here and most of those are new users.
Interesting how he comments seem to be competing for the most 'green' way of disposing their old mower. In reality its probably better to just donate it to someone that could use it. Think of all the extra energy it takes to recycle your old one into a new one when the old one worked just fine.
If I won, I would give it to my neighbor's kid who mows most of the lawns in the neighborhood.

If I win the Neuton mower I'll take my old mower and do the following. First I'll drain the oil out of the engine and gas out of the gas tank. I'll then take my old mower completely apart separating out all the different metals. The oil and metals will go to the recycling center where they will be re-used hopefully to make another electric lawn mower. The gas will go in to my gas tank.

My current gas guzzling, smoking, oil leaking mower that is getting me by until I can afford a cordless mower and a solar charging kit will be scrapped as it is not worthy to give away.
I will probably even make sure it can't be reused as a mower by draining and recycling it at some scrap metal location.

I would give my old mower to someone who was planning on buying a gas-powered mower anyway. At least it keeps one more out of circulation for awhile....

We have a really old hand me down lawnmower that we hardly use because we hate the thought of what it releases into the environment. Therefor our grass is always too tall. I would donate the old one to a place that would recycle all the parts. Then finally I will be able to go outside again without mosquitoes eating me alive, because my husband would finally cut the grass regularly.

If I won, I would try and find a new home for my old mower. If that didn't work I would part it out and recycle it.

Well, in my case it would not be so much how I would recycle my present mower, I don't have one. But having the Neuton would keep my landlord from driving his mower over (SUV and about 50 miles round trip) and polluting up our space with his old mower. As a added benefit, It would allow me exercise as I mow my law instead of him.

I just told my spouse about this mower yesterday. If I could win, the old mower would be recycled to my son. If he did not want it, there are many agencies that would take it, I am sure.

If I win the Neuton mower which I have been saving up for I will then Give my 14 year old Honda Push Mower to my son because it still works perfectly well and is so much less polluting than most mowers out there.

i would give it to someone that needs a new lawnmower, especially a first-time homebuyer that doesn't have a lot to spend on a new lawnmower.

I plan to disassemble my gas lawn mower, saving the nuts, bolts, wheels and axle shafts for home projects. The oil will be combined with oil from my Jetta TDI and recycled at the fire station. Any remaining gas will be run in a family car. All other metal and platics will be recycled appropriately. There is a possibility that not all plastics used in lawnmowers are recyclable. I will deal with that in the most appropriately ecological way.
And then I will charge the Neuton from my home PV system.

If I am so lucky enough to win, I don't have a lawn mower so you could consider that as already having donated my old lawnmower even though I don't have one. In the meantime until I actually get a lawn, I would donate this one to my parents to use at their house.
