Clean, green hands
It's hard to pry seriously chemical hand sanitizers, like Purell, out of the hands of germaphobes. Like so many toxic products, they are appealing because they work. It's just unfortunate that they are also bad for the environment, poisonous to children and may cause cancer.By now everyone knows that the best way to avoid sickness is to keep your hands clean. Fortunately there are eco-friendly and effective choices for portable hand cleaners.
Patricia recently wrote about CleanWell, which is definitely one of the greenest choices, especially because it's one of the few that doesn't use alcohol. The active ingredient of thyme oil even makes it smell green!
In the gallery, some additional choices to help you keep your hands clean and chemical-free.

I use this. It's nice because it's a spray (not liquid/gel). The only thing is that it takes a little to get used to its smell- I think it smells like oregano. Not abad smell, but a little strong when you first use it. Otherwise, great!
