Needs bigger bathrooms: Woman builds house out of old 747
Did you ever wonder what it would be like to live in an airplane? Me neither. But anyway, Francie Rehwald is building her house in Malibu California out of a recycled Boeing 747 jet. She picked up the old plane for a mere 40 grand, although it's costing a couple of million more to build the house. Apart from recycling the aircraft, the home will be built with an eye to sustainability, although Rehwald's environmental commitment would be more convincing if the jet parts weren't being airlifted in by giant helicopters. It's still pretty cool, though.

You can pick up a 747 body for $40K? Man, they should just make them into low-cost housing!
But seriously, two mil is still cheap for Malibu. Interesting idea, but I think it would have been cooler if it were a little more intact.
