Timberland shoes and Earthkeepers made the scene at Bonnaroo
The Bonnaroo Music + Arts Festival in Tennessee earlier this month was a pretty green event, with many opportunities to connect with the organizations behind the big causes of our time: global warming, human rights and the upcoming political elections. Timberland, the boot giant, took advantage of having all of those green celebrities in one place to promote their Earthkeepers Network which just launched on June 10th. The idea behind Earthkeepers is that we are all guardians of the earth. They encourage people to be mindful in their everyday choices, like walking instead of driving five blocks, and also to dare to do bigger things, like drive a bio-fuel car.
But the real question, is what did the celebs think of Timberland's new, earth friendly shoes? According to the press release, the Baldaci Ballerina (pictured at the right, $59.99), which contains organic canvas and has a 15% recycled outsole, was a big hit with the celebrity ladies. Well...they certainly look happy enough in the pictures we have in the gallery, so we'll call it a step in the right direction.
