Do you flush too much?
If you're not already inundated with enough news about how we in the western world are ruining the planet, here's another one for you. The water used in a single toilet flush is as much as an average person in the developing world uses all day. The average American uses about 100 gallons of water a day, as opposed to the French and Germans who use around 60 gallons a day. It's no surprise to hear that water consumption is directly associated with habit and culture. Luckily, these days we're becoming more aware of our water waste and hopefully all of you reading this are at least conscious enough of the problem to start taking steps in the right direction. To further this awareness, the National Wildlife Federation has created a quiz to help you determine if you're a water waster or a water saver. Check it out, you might be surprised!
