Is Subaru Heaven for real?
Is this really something that a company who is so concerned with environmental issues should be portraying? When you leave a vehicle out in the elements "to die", it will eventually leak some extremely harmful fluids into the soil. This, coupled with the rubbers and plastics that will never break down should cause concern for anyone viewing this commercial and wondering if it's perfectly acceptable to leave their car in the middle of nowhere.
Apparently, Subaru Heaven is a real place in Wisconsin, just east of Madison. It's not a glorious cliff overlooking a mountain range near a beach, it's a flat tract of land near Highway 12. In fact, it's really nothing more than a junkyard specializing in used Subaru parts. So why the embellished scenery? Why the illusion of zen? Selling your used car to a scrapyard and taking the proper legal and environmental precautions is one thing, but driving it out to a field to let it rot? It seems irresponsible to me.
