Jessica Simpson is PETA's latest victim
When will PETA learn to play nice? Their latest victim is Jessica Simpson. The group took aim at the (now country) singer because she was spotted out wearing a t-shirt that read, "Real Girls Eat Meat," across the chest. The animal advocacy group issued a statement to her saying, "Jessica Simpson's meaty wardrobe malfunction makes us thankful that no one is looking to her for food advice. Chicken-of-the-Sea anyone? The woman who thought that Buffalo 'Wings' came from buffalos would benefit from some good veggie brain food."
They should learn that negativity is not the way to get people on their side. This group bothers me -- I feel they turn more people off to veganism and animal rights simply because they're constantly attacking celebrities in the meanest way possible.
There are other more effective ways to get a point across.

I totally agree. I think PETA sets their "causes" back due to their tone and tactics. It's unfortunate that some will group them together with ALL people who are concerned with animal welfare.

I am a vegetarian who is constantly dissapointed by how Peta uses shock value and hatred to get their point across.
They alienate more people, and make vegetarians look like overzealous, angry and closed minded.
Just like Peta has a right to wear "Meat is Murder" so does Jessica Simpson have a right to wear a Pro-meat shirt. Calm down Peta!

I eat meat and I'm not ashamed of it. It's a choice. Everyone has one. PETA has done some great things, but they've also went overboard way too many times.

According to the Center for Consumer Freedom, in 2007, PETA killedover 90% of the 1,997 dogs cats it had in it's possession. In fact, PETA found adoptive homes for only 17 animals. Sickening.

Well Jessica had hatred to get her point acrossed too. She stated that "Real Girls Eat Meat", well i'm a real girl and I don't. She stated her hatred and they stated theres, it's that simple.

I am a Veterinarian, and I am so disappointed at the people who think PETA is a pro-animal organization. They would rather see animals--our pets/family members, dead rather than be "owned" by us. PETA has an agenda I don't quite understand. As animal lovers, we want to take care of them and love them. It seems they would much rather release them into the wild, and let them die a "natural" death. What else could happen to them, since they haven't been raised in an environment of kill or be killed?
It is so sad for me to think that people actually believe in PETA, and believe that they are actually animal activists. Please inform yourselves--PETA shelters are are actually one of the highest kill shelters in the country.
