First off, Happy Fathers Day! I know that we've covered
cards before but I thought that I'd reopen the topic as I not only have Mother's Day cards hanging out on my fireplace mantle but some Father's Day cards as well. I've found a few clever ways to
reuse them over the course of the coming year.
- Box. Father's Day cards usually have goofy pictures on them that are worth saving. Turn those cards into a box with these handy instructions and use them for an upcoming gift giving occasion or for next year's tie tack.
- Bookmark. If Dad likes to read, you can make him a bookmark to appreciate all year long.
- Compost. That card doesn't even have to leave the yard. Just rip it up a couple of times and throw it in the compost pile.
- Toys. Cut out any images of people or items from the card and attach to popsicle sticks for a mini puppet performance.
- Save it. If you've got small children and a forgetful Dad, you can always stow the card away for next year.
