Considering the paper usage, the almost immediately disregarded envelope, the emissions from the shipments to the store, and the cost to the consumer, it just makes financial and and environmental sense.
If you are feeling artistic, pull out some recycled paper and whip one up yourself. In fact, you can even make your own envelope using eco-friendly paper products, magazine pages, swatches of wallpaper, and more.
If arts and crafts aren't your thing, think about e-cards. Instead of just any old "happy father's day," why not send him an environmentally-minded card? WWF currently has several animal-themed free e-cards for the occasion.
