Recycle your posh perfume bottles

Have an old perfume bottle, but don't want to chuck it? Good news: the Bond No.9 and Saks Fifth Avenue fragrance counters will take back and recycle your empty bottles for free. bond no. 9 and saks fifth avenue fragrance counters will accept and recycle any empty glass fragrance bottle.

There are 16 Bond fragrances in all, each named for an area of New York City. (At right is "Union Square.") And if you buy another one when you recycle your old bottle, they'll give you a pocket-sized scent - free! - as a thank-you.

When you give them back, the bottles are sanitized, refilled, and then decorated in a way that shows customers their new purchase is in a recycled container.

See? Even posh department stores can be green.
