Want to get 100 miles per gallon? Here's how
I was only half joking yesterday when I suggested that a friend buy a motorcycle after hearing about her 52 mile commute. Apparently that isn't such a bad idea as motorcycles can get as much as 70 miles per gallon and the Yamaha C3 scooter gets 115 m.p.g. and costs about $2000. It's no surprise that the sale of motorcycles and scooters are at their highest in twenty years.Other benefits of moving to a two-wheeler, even just as a commuter vehicle, include fewer hours wasted trying to find the perfect parking spot and insurance is usually lower than a regular car. Drawbacks include the obvious weather concerns and exposure to the elements. You would also have to deal with the fact that you will be surround by people encased in a couple tons of metal who are likely to be oblivious to your presence.
Has anyone out there switched to a scooter or motorcycle since the recent gas hikes?
