May's Green Challenge: That's a wrap!
This month I challenged myself and our readers to do away with plastic shopping bags. All in all I'd say that I did OK despite the rough start. I also did a post on what chic, reusable bags are on the market. Please let me know in the comments how you did on your end. Once again I subject myself to video to deliver my captivating message only to realize that I'm wearing the same shirt as last month. It must be my subconscious at work because it certainly was not intentional.
Join me for June's Green Challenge which will start in a couple of days. Thanks for playing!

I'm up to receiving a grand total of 6 plastic bags this year so far. Two of them are from our "egg guy." I'll excuse it. They were reusing them, at least.

I have one of the ACME bags from Reusablebags.com - they rock - so small and compact. My wife carries Chico bags in her purse.
Just a thought - great for having with you all the time.

Also wanted to put a shout out for getting bags from the thrift store. While there are tons of cute reusuable bags being sold for ridiculous prices, second hand stores are full of bags and totes and fabrics and things for the same use, way lower prices, and without the energy use of making a new product and shipping etc.
