Heinz greens up more than ketchup

It has been a while since I have seen a bottle of green ketchup in the condiment aisle. It looks like Heinz has ditched one shade of green for another. The company is currently on a path to reduce its carbon emissions by 20% over the next seven years.

Though there are not currently any plans to grow tomatoes on site, Heinz has been diligently working to reduce waste by turning potato peels into biofuel. "Potatoes" are not what you think of when you hear "Heinz" but certainly come to mind when you hear "Ore-Ida," one of Heinz's many brands.

One other change for the good is to reduce package size by 15%. That means that bags and boxes might actually be a fair representation of the amount of food inside rather than housing for a great deal of air.
