Hewlett-Packard's recycled plastic printer
Following in the footsteps of other recent eco-conscious computer hardware manufacturers, Hewlett-Packard announced the first in their upcoming line of earth-friendly products. The D2545 printer, made from 83 percent recycled plastic and using ink cartridges made of recycled plastic resins aims to put the company on the green map. This new HP Eco Highlights label of printers will list the environmental attributes of each product, helping us as consumers be more aware of the actual impact of the products we buy.As for the future, HP promises that by 2010, 100 percent of their Deskjet printers will contain some form of recycled materials, and all of their products will eventually contain the Eco Highlights label.
