Turn any outdoor space into your personal fitness area

This month, Women's Health has a great article about reclaiming outdoor spots as your personal workout locales. I blogged about this idea a few weeks ago, and it looks like as the summer arrives, everyone's jumping on the minimalist outdoor workout bandwagon.

WH offers four workouts that can be done practically anywhere: pilates in the pool, cardio circuits on the trail, build your endurance on the track, and strength train at the park.

A lot of people I talk to say they shy away from outdoor workouts because they're afraid of how they'll be perceived by others. A few things to remember:

a) No one cares about the fact that you're running around the track or doing leg lifts in the pool. Everyone is way more concerned with themselves.
b) If it's new workout gear you seek, you've come to the right place.
c) Bring a friend or a pet to keep you company.
