Is Keurig just another name for waste?
So my brother has been pushing me to buy a Keurig coffee maker for my husband as he is the coffee drinker in our household. It wouldn't make sense for us, however, because Keurig offers a single serving of coffee whereas my husband drinks nearly a full pot every day. I put the product out of my mind until today while I was perusing Green Mountain Coffee Roasters website and read all about their fair trade coffees and saw that they had K-cups for the Keurig system.I looked closely at the single serving K-cups and saw that they looked like creamers with a plastic bottom and paper cap. First of all, I don't know about your coffee maker but ours can make anywhere from one to twelve cups of coffee. The coffee we buy comes in a paper bag. Why on earth would I want individual cartons of single serve grounds encased in plastic? In addition, how can Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, headquartered in the "Greenest State," support such a wasteful endeavor?
I think we'll stick with our old fashioned coffee maker, thank you very much.
