US Postal Service begins e-waste recycling program

As part of the first-ever national electronics recycling program for the United States, the US Postal Service is developing an easy way for consumers to get their electronic waste into the hands of someone who will recycle it properly. I'm not sure about you, but to me, free is the easiest way of all.

They're providing free postage-paid envelopes to anyone who wishes to recycle their e-waste, courtesy of Clover Technologies Group. This program is currently only available in select cities, including Chicago and Los Angeles, but may expand to nationwide status in the fall.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, Americans dispose of at least 2 million tons of household electronics each year, with less than 20 percent of that actually being recycled. We all hope that with this new program backed by the USPS, the awareness of this problem will be addressed and more people will participate.
