The environment vs. the economy: Yale website lets you 'see for yourself'
Yale economist, Robert Repetto wants everyone to know the score when it comes to the effect carbon-reducing legislation would have on the US economy. That's why he and his staff have developed a very user-friendly website that allows you to see the long term growth of the US economy with CO2 reductions in place. The See For Yourself website allows users to input their opinions regarding the economy and climate change, allowing them to compare their predictions with the Yale's.
Facts and figures are nice, but I think tools like this one are long overdue for people who want to get a little more hands-on with their understanding of climate change. The good news is that the Yale team predicts robust economic growth even in the face of substantial carbon emissions legislation. So, it seems that we don't have to sacrifice the economy for the environment. Yesss.

Well, the industry of transportation would change entirely, making the preferred form of energy creating the demand opposed to the standard oil. There's always money to be made when it comes to transportation of more the five miles. Though the demand for products will be far less a significant number compared to currently. I think that they if we reduce the consumerism problem though, firms may be more likely to produce things we need opposed to trying to convince us that we need a really cute key chain with some dumb phrase, or that we need that really cool light up beer mug.
