Dorm room plants: Jade
There's nothing like a plant to brighten up a small room, and dorms are no exception. Although many students have never taken care of a plant before, there are many that even a novice can keep. With that in mind, let's take a closer look at Jade, or Crassula arborescens. You don't have to worry about forgetting to water this one, because it isn't high maintenance like that. In fact, it's best if you let the soil dry before watering. Jade grows slowly, and won't need to be re-potted any time soon.
Once mature, Jade plants will sport flowers in the winter months. You can even find varieties with red on the leaves, or with different leaf arrangements.
