Ah, the pillowcase. It dutifully protects the pillow and gives our cheeks a smooth surface on which to lay. The pillowcase stifles our snores night after night and soaks up the drool without complaint. Usually the sheets wear out faster than their brothers at the head of the bed so when the set is replaced, the pillowcases still have plenty of themselves left to give. Don't let your pillowcases down after so many nights of faithful service, reuse them!
- Halloween. Use a pillowcase while trick-or-treating. They hold a lot more than those plastic, orange pumpkins and you can decorate them to match your disguise (or that of your wee goblin).
- Dress. My brother still makes fun of me for the pillowcase dresses that I made in high school but they were great fun. If you aren't brave enough to sew one for yourself, pillowcases make beautiful sundresses for little girls and are a breeze to make.
- Dust cover. Pillowcases are the perfect size to cover most lampshades, CPUs and monitors from paint or falling debris during renovations or an extended absence.
- Vacation. Rather an use a plastic bag for your dirty laundry during a trip, why not bring along an old pillowcase?
- Shopping. Add a couple of handles and you have your very own reusable shopping bag!
