Radiohead refuses to fly across the Atlantic in the name of saving the planet
Radiohead is definitely a band known for their earth-friendly ways. But they're taking it to a new level these days. When most celebs would have demanded a private jet, the group is actually performing for a U.S. talk show via satellite from the U.K. in order to save them a flight across the Atlantic!Thom Yorke, the lead singer for the group, says that flying the whole band to the U.S. to perform on Conan O'Brien's show would have produced the "equivalent pollution to driving a car for a whole year."
O'Brien was happy to oblige their request to play via satellite because his show has been taking part in a week long campaign for NBC called "Green Week." They're showing 7 days straight of environmentally conscious programming.
