Green Daily giveaway: Louisiana Market Sac
Now that you know plastic bags are a bane on the planet (so much so that some cities are banning them completely), it's time to find yourself a handy canvas bag for carting around your shopping. And while the fact that you're moving towards something more sustainable is a great start, you could take it one step further by supporting the bag that supports the continuing relief effort in New Orleans. Star 50's Louisiana Market Sac is "a sturdy canvas tote trimmed with brightly striped ribbon and features leatherette shoulder straps. Inspired by the bags of New Orleans locals being carried to open-air markets, it holds more than crawfish and fresh produce!" But beyond simply using New Orleans as its inspiration, the bag is also giving back to the city, by donating 5% of all sales to Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation. Now you can take a shot at winning one for yourself by leaving a comment letting us know what eco-friendly items you'd put inside your gorgeous new Louisiana Market Sac. Read on for more info!
- To enter, leave a confirmed comment below letting us know what eco-friendly items you'd put in the tote.
- The comment must be left before 5pm EST on Friday, April 25.
- You may enter only once.
- 1 winner will be selected in a random drawing.
- Winner will receive a Louisiana Market Sac (valued at $115).
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older.

To keep from causing plastic problems, we'll be using our bag as often as possible when grocery shopping and mall hopping.

Hey Go green all!!
I would use my Lousiana Market Sac for a number of things...i am a transcriptionist and I would deliver my work from clinic to clinic using this bag, it would be perfect and very professional looking and save on envelops...also I would grocery shop with it..as i have been using a knitted bag made out of those plastic grocery bags for groceries...(though it is showing my "green side" it would be nice to have a nice bag too!!) Thank you for your consideration!

I'd fill it with soysilk and organic cotton yarn & carry knitting projects to the stitch n bitch at the local yarn shop in it. I'd take it with me to the library to bring home books, magazines & CDs--rather than purchasing new. I'd take it shopping at the farmer's market and street festivals.

I would carry my lunch to work in it. Going to a fast food restaurant creates so much trash for our landfills.

During the work week, I will put my lunch for work and my daughter's stuff going to and from daycare. On the weekends I will use it for groceries and any other weekend shopping or errands.

More canvas bags. I hate those plastic bags they use at stores. Can imagine what our dump sites look like!
Thanks!

I'd use this great bag for buying my favorite organic products at my local Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or Sunflower markets. Among the things I'd be sure to put in it would be holistic dog treats and Horizon organic milk.
I'd use it instead of wasting a bag to carry things I need to bring with me during the day on my errands.

This green bag would not only assist in bringing home the fruits and vegetables from the DeKalb Farmers' Market, but also carry the books that I return to the library and the books I check out of the library. I also recycle my paperback books by reselling them for store credit at the Book Nook, a used bookstore that I frequent. This tote could carry those paperbacks both coming and going from that shop. What I could carry in this tote is only limited by my iimgination and my memory. I simply have to remember to return it to my car in order to have it handy. Hmmm, I probably should purchase at least two of these bags: one for the car and one for the house.
