4 types of green fashionistas
If you're a green fashionista, it's likely that you fall into one of four categories -- the living green consumer, the core fashionista, the walking green consumer and the spending green consumer.Second City Style blog helps break down each category for us.
- The Living Green Consumer: This type of green fashionista buys green clothing because she lives a green lifestyle. She doesn't do it because it's cool. She doesn't do it because she loves the style. She does it because she wants to live as low-impact as possible.
- The Core Fashionista: This girl wants to "build up the green in her fashion portfolio." She also doesn't buy green because it's trendy, she does it because her entire concept of green fashion is slowly changing. She wouldn't wear hemp but she does want to "make small modifications" in the clothing department.
- The Walking Green Consumer: She just wants to do what all the cool kids are doing. She buys green because she wants to "belong to a greater community." Basically, she's following the trends.
- The Spending Green Consumer: This woman feels that buying organic and sustainable clothing is a privilege. She likes to shop for these items because they're exclusive and not normally affordable to the everyday citizen. She likes green for being a "luxury category," not because she actually wants to make any sort of sacrifice to save the world.
