Prius vandals on the loose in California
If you're a Prius owner in Petaluma, California, you might want to park it in the garage tonight. So far this month, 6 innocent little Priuses (Prii?) have been victimized by a hybrid-hating menace. Police have absolutely "no idea" why the cars are being targeted, or how many haters are taking to the streets to smash these carbon-conscious rides -- just that all of the attacks have occurred on the city's west side. Is there a growing anti-Prius backlash?The first report came in on March 30th, where a Prius driver reported that someone had chunked a rock through their window. Since then, there have been reports of damage done with hammers and bricks -- one car even had its fender smashed by the vandals. This reminds me of the SUV-hating hordes in Sweden that call themselves the Indians of the Concrete Jungle. SUV drivers had to band together to keep from waking up to flat tires every morning. While it seems weird to see Prius and SUV drivers in the same boat, maybe Prius drivers need to follow their lead to form a counter-force.

This is a disgrace. I will admit there is a level of smugness in some Prius owners but this is horribly low. Some may remember the website FUH2.com where many people have taken pictures of themselves 'giving the finger' to Hummers but not even these people have ever stumped to the level of vandalism.
