Don't have the time or patience to figure out how to go green?

Not to worry: Make Me Sustainable will do the work for you.

Our trusty sister site Download Squad featured a video with the creators of Make Me Sustainable at SXSW.

And while the video is informative, the guys use phrases like "...mobilizing communities..." and "through a quantitative measure that allows you to have a point of reference..." which can be a little daunting. So, let me break it down for you, step by step, and you'll be sustainable in no time.
1.) Log onto MakeMeSustainable and set up an account. You will be asked simple questions about your daily life - your house type and size, your heating and water use - etc.

2.) Then, you get a profile. You can upload a picture and description, and each time you log in, you can view your Annual Carbon Reduction, facts about how your lifestyle affects the environment, and simple green tips that are tailored to your lifestyle.

3.) Then comes the fun part. You can use the Carbon and Energy Portfolio Manager (essentially a fancy carbon calculator) which helps you manage your energy costs and see what benefits your green life changes will have on the planet. From month to month, you can see how much you're saving in energy costs, and check off what you've done to lighten your carbon footprint, which shows up in real time on the screen.

4.) Once you've got your own profile raring to go, invite friends and help to influence their green decisions. You can also add the MMS application to Facebook, which shows you the impact that you and your Facebook friends have on the Earth.
