5 ways to reuse draperies
Once I hang draperies, I like to forget about them. However, I know that if I ever decide to remodel or move (God forbid), I will very likely be looking for a new home for my heavy velvet curtains.
- Wardrobe. Frankly my dear, Ms. O'Hara and the singing nun had the right idea when they turned old curtains into new frocks.
- Decorate. You may not want them hanging over your windows the thick drapery material can make some nice throw pillows.
- Pets. Cut each curtain into a large circle, sew together and stuff for a custom pet bed.
- Gifts. One set of curtains can make quite a few jewelry bags, perfect for gift giving.
- Protection. If the curtains are especially hideous, you will enjoy using them as drop cloths for your next painting project.
