Enterprise Rent-a-Car goes green
With everybody drivin' them green cars lately, rental car companies gots ta give the peeps what they want.Sorry - *ahem*. I don't know what came over me.
Anyway, Enterprise just opened four "green" branches in Atlanta, with 60 percent of the selection featuring hybrids and other fuel-efficient vehicles. (That makes about 4,000 hybrids in a fleet of 1.1 million - not a lot in that sense, but a start, nonetheless).
The company is cautious, not knowing whether the demand will be high enough to warrant the new purchases. But with gas prices nearing $4 a gallon, I have a feeling that even the die-hard SUV lovers will be renting the hybrids.
But it's not just Enterprise that's offering hybrids: Avis has Toyota Priuses available in some locations, and Budget Rent-a-Car offers the Toyota as well as the Nissan Altima hybrid. So on your next weekend jaunt to the beach, check to see if these cars are available near you.

Regardless of the type of cars they have for rental, I will no longer go to Enterprise. Have only ever rented a car once while mine in for repair. Horrible experience. IMO bad customer service, unsafe vehicle.
