Celebrate Earth Day Internationally!

Sometimes April 22nd rolls around and you find yourself in another country, wondering how to celebrate Earth Day. Perhaps you are always in another country, namely not in the U.S. and you want to celebrate Earth Day. Either way, it amounts to the same thing. I, Ring Madam of Earth Day Activities Portal, will point you to a few Earth Day events taking place around the world.

I envy those of you in Tokyo right now. In Yoyogi Park for two days events, bike rides and demonstrations will try to encourage you to be green. The event will be powered entirely on green energy. There will be an organic, local farmers market. And organizers have provided a plate and cutlery re-use station! This, ultimately, is why I am jealous of those of you who get to attend.

In Buenos Aires head to Plaza Naciones Unidas on April 22nd and 26th for days of forums on transportation, garbage, energy and water. The plan is to get people talking about how to reduce consumption and restore the planet. Art, film and music will also be on the agenda.

Know of more? I see Earth Day or Día de la Tierra took place in Mexico City, Madrid, Barcelona and Brussels last year. But I can't find plans for this year. Tell us what you know.
