Idbids: Eco-friendly toys on a mission

Idbids have arrived, just in time for Earth Day. Idbids are plush toys with green feet and distinct personalities. Each Idbid is dedicated to their own environmental element. Scout, pictured right, is a white cloud who knows a lot about the air and is very concerned about air pollution. Lola, the flower, teachers children about trees and plants. And Waverly is a water drop who cares about the ocean, seas, rivers and lakes.

Each Idbid comes with a storybook, a field guide and an organic bag for the child to wear. Using the field guide, children can follow the "iddy biddy" steps to help the environment, from turning off the faucet to properly disposing of trash. When the child finishes all of the tasks, they can, along with a grown-up, log on to Idbids.com to receive a Certificate of Completion. Idbids are made of 100 percent organic cotton and the packaging is made of recycled materials.

I know that the last thing many kids need is another set of toys, but I have to admit, these Idbids are very, very cute.
