Designer handbags made from eco-leather
![]() How is Barneys going green? Designers donate water bottles for charity. Plus, check out the latest sexy eco-fashion from Guess. |
If you don't know what eco-leather is, Green Consumer Guide gives us the definition, "This material is made from 80% cotton and 20% synthetic micro-fibre. Eco-leather shares the same characteristics as ordinary leather, yet has many benefits. Colouring for instance is a much simpler process, and the material does not wear or flake over time."
As an added bonus, eco-leather is sometimes cheaper than regular leather, so aside from just saving the planet, you'll be saving a little money too! But, I do say sometimes, because in the cases of a few designers (such as Stella McCartney) who are already famous for their eco-designs, you're paying for the name, not the material.

It's just a fake leather. No animals are involved in the making of animal leather...
