Use SocialVibe to influence friends to live green
Watch out, there's a new website in town. SocialVibe isn't the next in a long line of social networking sites, but it does piggy back on them. When you sign up for SocialVibe you can choose a "sponsor." Then you get a widget, which you promptly post in your Facebook, Myspace or any other similar site. The widget displays your sponsor and you get points for views. As you continue accumulating points for displaying your sponsor, money will be donated to a charity or cause of your choice (within the SocialVibe system, of course).
Think you're too cool for a website like that? Well, if it's good enough for Mena Suvari, it's good enough for you. Mena attended the SocialVibe.com Launch Green Party benefiting The Surfrider Foundation at Les Deux yesterday. You know celebrities -- they're always happy to show up for a good cause as long as it means getting their picture in the paper.
And while we're talking about good causes, let's talk about the Surfrider Foundation, SocialVibe's chosen charity for that particular event. The Surfrider Foundation has started a campaign to save our nation's beaches. They want to protect our oceans and beaches, keep the water clean and preserve special places. To learn more about fighting ocean pollution, visit their website.
