World's sexiest vegetarians revealed!

Back in November PETA revealed its top choices for Europe's "sexiest" vegetarians, and they weren't exactly stunning. Naturally, we assumed that this meant all vegetarians were less attractive than their carnivorous counterparts.

But we were wrong -- apparently it's Europeans that don't look so good.

Because earlier today the animal rights organization revealed the winners of their North American contest, and lemme tell ya, these cow lovers aren't heifers -- they're hot. Really hot.

Shona Barnthouse (pictured), is the 21-year-old bombshell who took the ladies' crown. She "dances" (read: is a stripper) and models for a living, and "recently went vegetarian" -- which seems to indicate that she may have kicked her burger habit simply to win the contest. Not that it matters -- clearly her new diet is doing a body good.

Chris Allen, the male winner, looks like a more legitimate animal lover. A professional hockey player who routinely protests against meat and fur, the stud muffin claims his meat-free lifestyle helped him come back "bigger, stronger, faster and more energetic" after a career-threatening injury.

Even if you could care less about saving furry little bunnies from becoming big furry coats, it's worth noting that many green-leaning groups think reducing our meat consumption would do wonders for the planet. An estimated 30% of the world's ice-free land is involved in livestock production, and animal agriculture has been linked to contamination of aquatic ecosystems, acid rain, greenhouse gas production, and depletion of aquifers for irrigation.
