Calling out Hayden Panettiere
Hayden Panettiere, environmentalist, who was rumored to go vegetarian when she began dating vegan, Milo Ventimiglia, may or may not eat animals but she apparently doesn't mind wearing them. Both bags that she designed for Dooney & Bourke are leather, "metallic leather" and "patent leather," respectively.Coming from a star who flew all the way across the world to save the dolphins, I find this a little bit hypocritical. She was also a Neutrogena model. Neutrogena is a cruelty free company and doesn't test on animals, but their parent company, Johnson and Johnson does.
Most celebrities really don't dig that deep for information on companies that offer them million dollar contracts. They just sign on the dotted line and then smile pretty for the pictures. But, Hayden with the dolphins seemed like the real deal. She didn't do it for publicity, she did it because she truly cared. I just think maybe we could all take her a little more seriously if she realized that humane treatment of animals should start in her own backyard. The dolphins in Japan are important, but so are the cows and test animals of America.
