Dream Eco-couples: Rachel Ray and John Mellencamp

For anyone who feels like fate has dealt you a bad hand, and wishes karma would smack around someone else for a change -- this couple is for you. Just picture the Cougar crooning twangy, all-American love ballads while his absurdly perky lover chatters nonsense in the kitchen -- occasionally singing along in that piercing nasal voice. Oh my gravy! These two deserve each other.
But in all fairness, their union might do the planet some good. Among the many causes Rachel supports are a few green-leaning organizations -- including the Blue Planet Run Foundation and the Center for Environmental Education. The Cougar, for his part, helped found Farm Aid with long-time eco-activist Willie Nelson.
Their house:
Is in the middle of nowhere because the Cougar "don't do cities." Fortunately Coug's career isn't very demanding these days, so he just roams the field out back singing Jack and Diane to himself. Meanwhile Rachel cuts down on her plane travel by filming her show from home. All that equipment uses up a fair amount of electricity, however, so the couple spends a chunk of the disposable income buying carbon offsets.

Their cars:
Don't exactly get 60 miles to the gallon, but at least they're hybrids. In an effort to identify with their target demographics while still remaining planet-friendly, Rachel drives a Saturn Vue, while John opts for the more manly Chevy Silverado hybrid.
Their kids:
Don't exist. Thank all that is holy.
