Linkin Park fans get free ride
As part of the "Go Green for No Green" initiative, the city of London and London Transit are teaming up with rock band Linkin Park to provide free transit rides to the band's concert this Saturday. Fans can present their tickets from 5:30 p.m. to midnight to receive free bus rides, and people who carpool with four or more people won't have to pay for parking. But you'd better arrive on time - parking at the John Labatt Centre venue is limited to 80 spaces, and the lot will only be open for two hours.
Considering the amount of time and money it usually takes me to trek out to larger venues to catch shows, I'd take full advantage of this program (that is, if I lived in London and actually liked Linkin Park). But I'm sure most music fans would agree that concert parking at larger venues is usually atrocious, and one can spend hours idling in a car pre- and post-show. Incentives to carpool and free bus travel seems like a great way to combat these problems, leaving you more time to wave you hands in the air like you just don't care.
