Ya gotta love cardboard
Cardboard. It's really an amazing product, and as a society we've incorporated it into all kinds of different areas of life. Few of us, if any, can go through a single day without seeing or using cardboard -- it's everywhere. The good news is that cardboard is already fairly environmentally friendly, being made up of about 2/3 recycled fiber and 1/3 virgin fiber, plus many companies (like the one in featured in this New York Times interview) are working towards making their products even more environmentally friendly. Of course no packaging is perfectly green (even at its best it's still "packaging") but cardboard definitely has some good points going for it -- even it's just the fact that it breaks down in my compost pile.
