Live green like Lost: Avoid big, black, ominous clouds of death
Is it man-made? Is it some freakish, pseudo-psychic, naturally occurring phenomenon? Is it an alien?Whatever (or whoever) is behind the enormous black cloud that periodically hunts island inhabitants as they wander through the forest, that thing is dangerous -- and it scares the crap out of everyone. Even the others won't go near that thing.
While, fortunately, the ominous black clouds we see here on the mainland won't chase you around, show you creepy visions, then pick you up and toss you around before leaving you for dead. But they will kill you -- eventually. We've known pollution was bad for awhile now, but recently scientists have been discovering just how bad the problem is. Pollution has been linked to diabetes, increases your risk of a heart attack by 69% when found in high levels, and, most disturbingly, might be aging our brains prematurely.
Like the Losties, we'll only be able to run from our scary black clouds for so long. Eventually we'll have to do something about it.
