Let SolesUnited recycle your Crocs
Here's the skinny on the process: you donate your old Crocs to an authorized donation center and they get shipped to SolesUnited. The miracle workers at SolesUnited grind them up and recycle the rubber, forming it into brand new shoes that they will then ship out to people in impoverished nations. It's pretty cool actually. The trick is making people aware of the recycling option -- so tell all of your Croc-wearing friends.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that shipping crocs all the way across the farkin' country is not a good way to recycle these things. Wouldn't it be better for them to work with recycling centres to make sure that local blue box programs support recycling of the fugly damn things?
They just want more free raw material to redye and sell over priced plastic clogs to the masses.

Wow, this is great. If only they could cut off the feet of whoever wears Crocs and donate those to the starving victims of civil unrest in Africa.

I think it's terrific that Crocs is doing this. Of course the program is imperfect but it's a great start. I look forward to other, large-scale companies following suit.
I've written about other, smaller companies, practicing Buy-One-Give-One business here: www.causecapitalism.com

Any idea where you can recycle non-Croc brand "crocs?" I checked with SolesUnited and they only take the Croc brand.
