Tip of the Day: Bring a reusable water bottle when you travel
Bring along a metal or reusable plastic water bottle when you travel to cut down on bottled water purchases.
For the next few days, I'm in New York City, away from home and all my nice, eco-friendly habits. I'm going to be eating out for the rest of the week and creating more waste is unavoidable when you're buying all your meals in restaurants and on the run. One way I'm reducing my waste this week is buy bringing my Sigg Swiss water bottle with me wherever I go. It helps me avoid buying multiple bottles of water a day and will remind me to drink water as well (a good thing to do when you're running around a busy, big city).
I also brought a reusable coffee mug with me so that I can avoid using multiple paper cups every time I want coffee or tea (it also means that I'm prepared if I happen to stumble across a refreshment table).
