What's in our water: hundreds of chemicals
It's amazing how many horrible things are invisible. Hundreds of them have names for which the pronunciation can be perplexing. They are the list of chemicals that can be found in our water.
No wonder water filtration systems are such a hot items these days. A web site devoted to comparison shopping for the devices points out why:
In America's highly industrialized society we use over 80,000 toxic chemicals every day, and over 1000 new ones are being developed every year. And they're ending up in our water.
So what, you say?
The same web site offers up these stats:
Before all of these chemicals were present in our environment, one out of 50 Americans would get cancer in their lives. Now, one in three Americans will become cancer victims. And these cases can be linked to the accumulation of man made chemicals in our body.
Remember, what goes down our drains and into our gutters, rivers, lakes and doesn't go away. Eventually, what comes around goes around.
What's in your food?
