Give your bedroom a 'green-over'

The thing is, none of those programmes deliberately focused on going green with our decor, and why would they have? Green living is definitely becoming more popular as we start to become aware of how we make our not-so-nice mark on the environment, but it isn't yet the be all and end all of our lives. When we think about redecorating, going green isn't usually our top priority and even if it was, it's not always easy to know just how to change a room's look in an earth-friendly way.
I'm soon going to be moving into a new home and have been browsing around the Internet, scouting for ideas, and have come across a few really cool and eco-chic ideas.
Mattress, pillows and bedlinen - there are some fabulous items available from EcoChoices. They also have a great range of contemporary maple furniture, including this sleek computer desk, which makes me drool.
Floor coverings have also gone organic and natural and this jute selection from Pottery Barn is lovely. (Jute is a good green choice - it's fast growing and therefore a sustainable product).
Curtains a la Carte have a good selection of chic and green curtains made from hemp, which is another rapid-growing resource.
And for those finishing touches, I love this grasscloth wallpaper fromTwenty2, and this beautiful mango wood, hand-crafted screen from Overstock.com.
If you're so inclined, with a little bit of patience and determination, you'd easily be able to create an eco-chic bedroom.
