Green Tax Guide: Add a Fuel Cell to Your Home and Save Taxes

Did you add a fuel cell to your home to improve your energy efficiency by at least 30%? If so, you may be eligible for 30% of the cost up to a total of $1,000 per KW of power that can be produced. In order to qualify the fuel cell must have the capacity to generate at least 0.5KW.Qualified fuel cells must be part of an integrated system comprised of a fuel stack assembly and associated balance of plant components that convert a fuel into electricity using electrochemical process and an electricity-only generation efficiency of greater than 30%. You can't include the costs allocable to a swimming pool, hot tub or any other energy storage medium.
